Inventory Management Guide - Adding Products and Tracking Stock

Effective inventory management is crucial for your business. Tracksales makes it easy to track products, monitor stock levels, and stay on top of your inventory.
1. Adding Products to Your Inventory
To add a new product:
- Navigate to Inventory from the main menu
- Click "Add Product" or the "+" button
- Fill in product details:
- Product name and SKU
- Description
- Category
- Purchase price and selling price
- Initial stock quantity
- Unit of measurement
- Upload product images (optional)
- Click "Save"
2. Managing Stock Levels
Keep track of your inventory in real-time:
- Stock Adjustments: Manually adjust quantities for damaged, lost, or found items
- Automatic Updates: Stock levels update automatically when you make sales or purchases
- Stock History: View complete history of all stock movements
- Multi-location: Track inventory across multiple locations if you have the multi-location feature
3. Setting Up Low Stock Alerts
Never run out of stock with automatic alerts:
- Go to the product you want to monitor
- Set the "Reorder Point" (minimum stock level)
- Set the "Reorder Quantity" (how much to order when low)
- Enable email notifications
You'll receive alerts when stock falls below the reorder point, helping you maintain optimal inventory levels.
4. Organizing Your Inventory
Keep your inventory organized with:
- Categories: Group related products together
